Thank you for visiting my website! Here is a little bit about me. First and foremost, I am a wife and mother. I have been married for 33 years to the man I met on the first day of college back in 1988 at UC Davis. My undergraduate degree was in biology, and my first job after graduating college was as a customer service representative at a trucking company! I began my life-long dream of being a mother in 1995, and was a stay-at-home mom to my 3 boys for a number of years before going back to graduate school and becoming a therapist in 2010. I am a former Navy wife, and endured 4 deployments home with my litttle boys while my husband served overseas on and off for 9 years. My 3 boys are now young adults, at ages 24, 26, and 28. As a result of raising boys, it's difficult to surprise or offend me! 

We lived in Carlsbad for 15 years before moving to the hills of Escondido in 2015 where we are now enjoying more space, more avocados, and more critters! I am an animal lover, and have 3 goats and one potbelly pig!

I am a certified EMDR therapist, and use EMDR everyday in my practice. I am passionate about this therapy modality as I have seen some really great results from it! I also have advanced training using somatic interventions, and incorporate them extensively into my EMDR work. In addition, I have completed a year-long holistic nutrition program through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and believe strongly in the body-mind connection. 

I think my clients would say I am laid-back, real, and easy to connect with.   I am not a fan of medication unless absolutely necessary, and will rarely suggest traditional Western medical interventions before trying everything else first. I like a more holistic, natural approach to healing. I am a full, clinical member of both the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the EMDR International Association.
